1981 Fender ‘Dan Smith’ Stratocaster; Here’s a Cool example of this rare model. These rare guitars were only made in the early 80s and have a very "early vintage reissue" feel with vintage frets and a great classic look and feel. This particular example is the earliest iteration and still sports the large Fender F neck plate (early 81 models only!)

This guitar is in very good condition with a bit of finish wear; the normal amount of small paint nicks for a guitar of this age. The gold plating on the tuners is deteriorating. The guitar comes with a tweed case and some of the paperwork. In the early 80s, Fender underwent a lot of changes as a company, and some of those changes can be represented by the Fender Dan Smith Stratocaster.

In the early '80s, Fender's marketing director Dan Smith decided to upgrade the Strat with a smaller headstock and pre-CBS era neck plate. The guitar model only survived production for three years. The Dan Smith name is just a moniker with which the instrument has been dubbed by collectors.

Price includes Tweed Case.
